How might we best leverage generative AI in the design process? This talk helps designers explore where and when it makes sense to lean on generative AI in design work and what that means for the future of design. In terms of elevating the standard of work, AI has the potential to increase productivity and creativity or it can be a total time suck and make things worse. If we insist on a higher standard of work, we need to make sure we are not just moving at a higher speed to garbage output. We need to be deliberate and thoughtful about where and when it makes sense to employ tools like generative AI and what that change in process means for us as designers long term.
